MSUM Club Baseball

Dragon baseball is one of the longest tenured club sports at MSUM. Over time, the team's success has continued to develop every year.

The team is generously supported by the MSUM Office of Student Activities, Club Sports, and the Student Activities Budget Committee, however over half of our total budget is comprised of various player fundraising efforts and player fees that have increased to over $600 per player.

In 2013, MSUM joined the National Club Baseball Association, Division II, and became eligible for postseason competition. The addition of a conference schedule and consecutive years of playoff appearances, our annual operating budget has grown to nearly $45,000; travel and lodging being the largest portion of that budget.

In their first year in the league, the Dragons clinched a conference title and earned a trip to the District V Regional Playoffs, held in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, placing 2nd. In 2014, the Dragons earned back-to-back conference titles and returned to the Regional Playoffs. The Dragons went 3-0 in the tournament and punched their ticket to the NCBA DII World Series in Paducah, Kentucky. MSUM went 1-2 in the tournament and placed 5th.
Since last season, the Dragons have been considered one of the best Division II teams in the country, maintaining a top 5 national ranking in the NCBA DII League Poll.

With half of the 2015 conference schedule remaining, the Dragons are again on top of the standings and hoping to finish the season as 3-time defending conference champions-- earning a return trip to the playoffs for the chance to play in the 2015 World Series in Pittsburg, Kansas.
